Last Tuesday, we had the opportunity to play for the crowd gathered at the Cherry Blossom Festival's Pink Tie Party Fundraiser. The event featured food and drink from many of DC's top bars and restaurants and the evening was hosted by world-renowned chefs Jose Andres and Roy Yamaguchi. While we did not get a chance to sample the amazing looking variety of foods, we did get a few snacks thanks to our wonderful volunteers, Pamela and Ruby, who went and hunted down some snacks for us between performances. As we were headed back to our dressing room, we even bumped into Adam Richman from the Travel Channel show Man vs. Food.

Thanks again to the organizers for inviting us back to perform. We look forward to playing this event again in the future.

This weekend, several of the members of Nen Daiko had the pleasure of attending the performance by the TAO taiko drummers at  GMU's Center for the Arts . For us, this is a real treat to see a professional group perform to give us a quick boost of energy and inspiration as we prepare to launch into our own performance season for the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
