Our 2014 spring performance season may be over, but we here at Nen Daiko know that our April back-to-back concert schedule is only a warmup for what’s coming up later this year. If you come by our open house this month (May 18th) you will see us hard at work conditioning for this year’s Obon festival & other upcoming gigs, and further honing our taiko art… Indeed, the next few months are a great opportunity for us to experiment creatively, while also continuing to improve the songs currently in our repertoire. So the next time we play Rouga we will be an even more convincing pack of wolves :) As I write this I take a moment to reflect on what a wonder it is that Nen Daiko can bring together so many different folks of a variety of backgrounds, and tie us all together through love of music and rhythm at this one place and time. Playing taiko is, for me, a celebration of this momentary intersection in our lives — this is what Buddhist Taiko means to me.
Oh, by the way: have you marked our 20th anniversary concert on your calendar yet? We have many exciting plans in store for this concert, and are working very hard to make this our best concert ever :) http://nendaiko.weebly.com/20th-concert.html ~Chase Comments are closed.
