![]() We had our second performance of this season on November 2nd, 2013, at the National Japanese American Memorial Foundation (NJAMF) Gala. We were very honored to be asked to perform for this event and be a tribute to our WWII veterans. We have performed for the NJAMF during past Cherry Blossom Festivals, but this was a new event for us. We hope they enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed performing. One of the emcees of the night is a board member of NJAMF (He performed as well since he is also a full member of Nen Daiko!) Hooray for Brig, great job! ![]() We also had a workshop with Ryo Shimamoto, an experienced and truly amazing professional taiko performer and teacher from Japan. This was his second USA tour and we were gladly appreciated his work and energy. We have been learning one of his original compositions over the last two years and we are planning to perform it this season. Don’t miss it!! ![]() Finally, our second open house was on November 24th, where we open up the beginning of practice to the public and members of Ekoji. We had five participants who were very interested in playing taiko, but for some reasons they didn’t have a chance to play before. They went home with a big smile and a little soreness. The last open house of this year is going to be December 15th, from 2pm to 3pm. This experience could be one of your bucket list of the year? It is fun and great exercise, so please wear comfortable clothes AND ENJOY! --Hanae Comments are closed.
